I spent two weeks volunteering for the Fundación de Desarollo Indígena de Pastaza (FUNDECOIPA) in the Arutam Rainforest Reserve. FUNDECOIPA's primary concern is to preserve and protect communally-owned Shuar land, for environmental as well as cultural reasons.
